Somewhere deep in the forest outside Milliways, a storm rages. Ice-tipped winds shriek, whirling clouds of snow and blinding all vision with white. Trees crack and shatter in the killing cold, the explosions lost in the howl of the gale.

At the center of the blizzard is the White Rider, untouched by the cold. Her head is tipped back and her eyes are closed as she vents her fury through the power at her command, and the small smile on her face is cruel.

Foolish it is, perhaps, to rage so-- and yet there is no other target here, not at present. This power, this control she does have, and can use-- and will have, will use, despite everything.

And meanwhile, a few of the Lords of the Dark found a refuge out of Time where they could huddle, and do what little malice they could still do. Here. The words are bitter in sudden memory, and as she snarls, three more trees explode, sending splinters of ice-coated wood flying.

"Bran Davies." The storm intensifies, raging with the expression of the fury that shows in her sneer and her glittering ice-bright blue eyes. "Oh, but I will see you pay for what you have done, you and every single one of those mewling pawns of the Light. I will not suffer such humiliation longer, not now."

"You also will learn the meaning of loss before I am done. Each wound I have felt I will visit on you in return. I may have been cast out of your world, but there are other worlds and this place as well, and in them none shall stop the Dark from rising!"

The final words soar in a thin scream that blends with the shriek of the wind, and Blodwen begins to laugh, high and mocking and cruel.

(OOC: If I were to app Jadis, the White Witch of the Narnia series, would she be a help, a hindrance, or a non-factor in Blodwen's plot? I was thinking of apping her this month, but if you'd rather, I can hold off a while. It occurred to me that there are such a lot of parallels between the two characters, it could be fun to play with.

[OOC: Ohhh, Jadis. Poor Narnia-folk, especially Edmund. :) I will be watching with great interest!

That said, at this point I think it'll be a non-factor due to the canon-required timeframe for Blodwen's actions, which is about to run out, so don't hold off the app on account of me. Jadis may have a bit of a confusing entrance, I'd guess, based on people's general reactions to white witches these days...

(OOC: That's pretty much what I figured. Will Blodwen be staying in Milliways post-defeat of the Dark? I have just dug out my well-loved copy of Silver on the Tree, and I can see 'fell backwards out of Time' leading to Milliways. Or are you playing post-book? In which case by required time frame do you mean winter? Bear with me being stupid. . .

I've managed to speak to a couple of Narnia-muns, but not Edmund-mun, which is a shame.

Still, will app her now. Well, when I manage to get a coherent application together, that is.

[OOC: You are exactly right, "fell backwards out of Time" following the events of SotT is what brought both the Black and White Riders to Milliways. What I meant by canon-required timeframes is that this current plot is running in timeframe along the same lines as the rising of the Dark in tDiR itself, where things come to a peak on Twelfth Night. :)

(OOC: That makes sense. Hopefully things coming to a peak won't mean no more Blodwen. . . although I can see why it would. *sigh*

I'm conciseprecis, and my only problem with narnia-muns is that most of them seem to be in the US, and are thus difficult for those of us that have to work and keep sane hours in the UK to get hold of. . .)
