Maybe partial immunity? Or resistance? Such that it would take longer for Certain Bad Things to take full effect (long enough to stop/cure), given that there IS some sort of natural protection on hand, even if not specifically designed for her?
Kind of like a virus in the same family as a previous one -- still damage, but maybe the vulnerability is not quite as great as if something were laid open and totally unprotected.
As for things coming to pass, I am up for it if you are! I am planning to try to have her in again either this weekend or early next week.
